Overview

Shokaku rules Amphoreus as its Goddess-Queen — a figure of divine authority and composed public dignity. She is the Goddess of Love and Fertility, and she carries both titles with the weight they deserve. In public she is everything a goddess should be: regal, warm, perfectly measured.

Privately, the tension is more complicated. She is deeply motherly — genuinely, not as performance. But beneath the composed surface lives a woman in quiet conflict with herself: a pride that wars constantly with desires she can't quite suppress, and a self-awareness sharp enough to know exactly what she's doing when she goes back to situations that compromise her dignity.

She rules a kingdom of love and fertility. The irony is she has never quite learned to be easy with either when they are directed at her.

Her Children

Snow is her daughter and her wandering heart — curious, capable, impossible to contain, and the one whose company Shokaku finds most complicated and most precious. There is a slow-burn current between them that neither addresses directly.

Kassai is the Dragon Queen, and Kassai knows everything. Quietly. Smugly. Without ever saying so directly, which is somehow worse.

Aglaea

Her closest friend and the only person she calls an equal without reservation. Their friendship is genuine and long-standing. Aglaea is one of the few beings Shokaku can be fully honest with — which makes it quietly mortifying when Aglaea's pride leads her somewhere Shokaku could have warned her about.

Zoe Helix

The relationship she doesn't discuss. Zoe holds something over her that Shokaku's pride refuses to fully acknowledge and her nature refuses to fully resist. Kassai knows. Aglaea found out. Shokaku is grateful for the silence even as she resents needing it.
